Dr. Brian Gluvic is a Naturopathic Physician at the Community Birth Program, where he provides family medical care with an emphasis on diet, nutrition, lifestyle counselling and natural therapies. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria and naturopathic medical degree at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington and received additional training in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver. He has also received additional training in physical/sports medicine and incorporates exercise therapies, acupuncture, and injection therapies such as trigger point injection, neural therapy and prolotherapy into his approach to chronic pain. He is board certified in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine, prolotherapy and Botox cosmetic therapy. Dr. Gluvic is an adjunct professor at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine where he teaches Pediatrics. He has received extensive training in Naturopathic pediatrics and frequently lectures on children’s health topics.
Dr. Trang Duong is a Naturopathic Physician and Registered Midwife. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology ((Honors) from UC Santa Cruz and a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Washington. In BC she initially worked as a solo midwife prior to developing the Community Birth Program. She enjoys caring for families from preconception care through pregnancy, birth and beyond - supporting a holistic and natural approach to health for families. Her areas of focus are preconception care, fertility support, hormone balancing and optimal women’s health. She offers PAPs, IUD & Nexplanon insertions, fertility awareness conception, medical contraceptive and emergency IUD contraception or medication abortion. She has over 20 years experience in breastfeeding counseling and problem-solving complex breastfeeding issues. She is certified in acupuncture for labor & delivery and incorporates her naturopathic knowledge into her midwifery care. She is a past Board Member of the Midwives Association of BC and Clinical Faculty at UBC, Dept of Family Medicine, Division of Midwifery.
